Believer: Every religion on this earth has good things which one must understand and pay due respect.
I, Gary DeVaney, for one, am curious how effectively you may address this challenge.
I have one specific question to you all concerning the supportive statement that religion has good things. This one question applies only to the Judeo-Christian religion and to its Biblical God.
The DeVaney Challenge:
"Outside of the myth of creation, what did the Biblical God do good for someone without hurting another?"
It is really just a simple, fact-requiring question. After realizing that you can not come up with any “God did good” list of substance - most of you will simply IGNORE the challenge. Some of you may defer answering - even to yourself - this specific on-topic question to those who you think are smarter than you are. Some of you may again get angry and condemn me for disrespectfully asking such a blasphemous question. On The God Murders page, I put the Biblical God on trial - so - this “blasphemy” is minor by comparison. And, did you check out the website page on “Did Jesus Christ Lie?”. More C&V blasphemy! You can “google” either or both.
This is an objective, logical question - so don’t pretend to be offended by it. This is your personal opportunity to show how great you determine your Biblical God to be - and what you specifically believe makes the Biblical God great. Don’t disappoint God in front of everybody. Let’s see how LONG and of what QUALITY your list will be.
LOL! It just occurred to me that this probably will become the last entry on this link - because nobody will dare respond concerning the question. Come on. Don’t let that happen. Meet the challenge! Outside of the myth of creation - God had to do something good without hurting another.
I’ll even start you off with a couple of “God did good without hurting another” examples:
Fact: God allowed some old, barren women to have children they very much wanted. God did good and it hurt nobody.
Really! Who made those old women barren in the first place?
Fact: God gave Solomon wisdom. God did good and it did not hurt anyone.
Really! What did Solomon do with God’s gift of wisdom? Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Solomon became the richest man on Earth. Both of these facts were condemned by God in The Old Testament. Solomon ended up SERVING OTHER GODS. Maybe Solomon’s wisdom was valid!

Often, at the beginning of my speaking engagements, my challenge to the audience - and to all the audiences of the youtube World is: "Other than the myth of creation, can you list, by Bible Chapter and Verse, whereby the Old Testiment Biblical God did something "good" for someone without hurting some one else."

List?
If the Biblical God is so "good", let us all see how long and what quality your Bible C&V list is.
I have a few Bible C&Vs listed whereby God did something "good" for someone without hurting someone else - like allowing old, barren women to conceive. But, Who made these women, Sarah (Genesis 16:1 , 18:11, 21:10) Hannah (Judges 13:2-3) Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-57) barren in the first place? God did - to fulfill His personal agendas. God also gave Solomon wisdom (1 Kings 3:9-14). Solomon used this "God-given wisdom" to take 700 wives and 300 concubines for himself and then to worship other gods before he died (1 Kings 11:3-4).
Hummm, maybe God's gift of wisdom to Solomon actually took because he did end up worshipping other (maybe better) gods.
Can you accept my challenge? Let's see how many Bible C&V examples of "God being good" you can come up with. Let's see how "good" you can prove the Biblical God to be - by C&V documentation.
Question: If the Biblical God is so "good" - why are the believer's Bible C&V lists so short - and weak in moral quality?
Faith, as an answer, is nonsense - and faith is never an answer.
