Bible C&V

According to the Strong’s Concordance, the word "hell" is supposed to show up, C&V, in the King James Bible 54 times. However, in some of the Old Testament, where the word "hell" is supposed to be, the word grave is documented and death is emphasized.

Pastor Arnold Murray: I will challenge anyone. Hell does not exist right now. The word in the manuscripts are either the grave or Ghenna. The (Ghenna) garbage pit outside of Jerusalem is translated Hell. The "Lake of Fire" does not exist until the end of the Millenium. You are making God the Devil to send people into Hell right away - right when they die - without judgment. Judgment Day is not until the end of the Millenium and no one will enter Hell until that event.

I agree with Murray's statement about making God the Devil. GWD 

Prior to seeing what "HELL" amounts to in the Bible, let’s see a Biblical description of God which is documented 3 times:

Deuteronomy 4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 9:3 But be assured today that the LORD your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire He will destroy them…

Hebrews 12:29 For our "God is a consuming fire.

Does this Bible C&V qualify its God to not only be the Devil but also Hell itself?

Now, on to the Bible’s documentation of “HELL”:

Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire has been kindled by my wrath, one that burns to the realm of death below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.

2 Samuel 22:6 The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

Job 11:8 They are higher than the heavens - what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave - what can you know?

Job 26:6 Death is naked before God; destruction lies uncovered.

Psalm 9:17 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.

Psalm 16:10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

Psalm 18:5 The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

Psalm 55:15 Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the grave, for evil finds lodging among them.

Psalm 86:13 For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave. 

Psalm 116:3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

Psalm 139:8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

Proverbs 5:5 Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.

Proverbs 7:27 Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.

Proverbs 9:18 But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of the grave.

Proverbs 15:24 The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. 

Proverbs 23:14 Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death.

Proverbs 27:20 Death and Destruction are never satisfied, and neither are the eyes of man.

Isaiah 5:14 Therefore the grave enlarges its appetite and opens its mouth without limit; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers.

Isaiah 14:9 The grave below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you— all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones— all those who were kings over the nations.

Isaiah 14:15 But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.

Isaiah 28:15 You boast, "We have entered into a covenant with death, with the grave we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place."

Isaiah 57:9 You went to Molech with olive oil and increased your perfumes. You sent your ambassadors far away; you descended to the grave itself!

Ezekiel 31:16 I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the grave with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the trees that were well-watered, were consoled in the earth below.

Ezekiel 31:17 Those who lived in its shade, its allies among the nations, had also gone down to the grave with it, joining those killed by the sword.

Ezekiel 32:21 From within the grave the mighty leaders will say of Egypt and her allies, 'They have come down and they lie with the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.'

Ezekiel 32:27 Do they not lie with the other uncircumcised warriors who have fallen, who went down to the grave with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads? The punishment for their sins rested on their bones, though the terror of these warriors had stalked through the land of the living.

Amos 9:2 Though they dig down to the depths of the grave, from there my hand will take them. Though they climb up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down.

Jonah 2:2 He said: "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.

 Habakkuk 2:5 indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.

Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Matthew 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 11: 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Matthew 18:9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

Matthew 23:15 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

Matthew 23:33 "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

Mark 9:43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

Mark 9:45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.

Mark 9:47-49 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, ⁴⁸where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁹Everyone will be salted with fire.

Luke 10:15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths.

Luke 12:5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Luke 16:23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

Acts 2:27 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 

Acts 2:31 Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay.

James 3:6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;

Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Revelation 6:8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Revelation 20:13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.

Revelation 20:14-15 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ¹⁵If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible has the word hell listed in all these Bible C&Vs.

Obviously the grave sufficed as hell mostly in the old testament. It evolved to be a political tool from mere biological death to eternal punishment.

Did you notice that not once did the Bible mention Satan, the Devil, to be associated with Hell, the grave or death in any of these C&Vs? Unbelievable!
